Request Legal Support or Report a Legal Issue

Migrants SA provides free or discounted legal aid for migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers in South Africa. Get help with immigration, detention, family disputes, or labor rights — confidential and compassionate.

About the Legal Aid Program

Migrants SA exists to ensure that no migrant, refugee, or asylum seeker faces injustice alone. Through our Legal Aid & Immigration Support Program, we provide direct legal advice, representation, and mediation support — regardless of status or background.

We cover issues such as visa and asylum processing, detention and deportation defense, family reunification, labor disputes, discrimination, and access to healthcare or education. Advice is always free, while representation depends on your membership level.

Who Can Apply

  • ✅ Any migrant, refugee, or asylum seeker in South Africa
  • ✅ Families of detained or deported persons
  • ✅ Employers or organizations reporting violations against migrants
  • ✅ Community leaders assisting at-risk individuals
Note: Pre-existing legal cases (started before joining or submitting) are not eligible for free coverage — but may still receive paid assistance.
